Project Support Officer
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is an international economic department, responsible for breaking down barriers to trade and investment, delivering a new trade policy framework for the UK, promoting British trade and investment across the world, and building the global appetite for British goods and services.
We are looking for project delivery professionals (or aspiring project professionals!) to join our team and contribute to the smooth-running projects and programmes at DIT. Day to day, you could be planning and scheduling tasks, monitoring and reporting projects, overseeing processes and ensuring organisational tasks are carried out efficiently, monitoring project spend, overseeing risk activity, and managing stakeholders so naturally you’ll be someone who enjoys variety and is able to work in a changing environment.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have an awareness and working level understanding of Project Delivery frameworks and methodologies, including Planning, Risk & Issue management, Reporting, and Stakeholder management. You’ll also be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and good analytical skills. You’ll have a genuine passion for and interest in professional project delivery, as well as being curious about how DIT works and driven by a desire to see tangible outcomes. It is crucial that you have the confidence to seek direction and escalate issues in this role and can remain calm in changing circumstances.
This a truly exciting opportunity to join us on our mission of supporting the application of best practice project and change management. In return, you’ll receive support as well as ongoing formal and informal opportunities to continue your personal and professional development
